Participating in a ‘Vox Clash – The Mic Showdown’ can be great for various reasons:
- The opportunity for to perform a 25min set – not just 2 or 3 songs – artists can ‘spread their wings’.
- All singers, rappers, and vocalists’ performances are videoed for permanent record and live streamed via the Eastlakes Sports Club Facebook page which goes out to a wider audience.
- ‘Vox Clash’ does extensive marketing e.g. production of short-form promo videos shared on Facebook and Instagram; posting the up-and-coming ‘Vox Clash’ with dozens of Facebook groups and community pages; letterbox leaflet drops in the local neighbourhood; press releases and email marketing campaigns.
- All singers, rappers, and vocalists get a complimentary drink of their choice 🙂
- 2 singers, rappers, or vocalists are selected from each heat (there are 4 more heats) to go through to the FINAL on Sunday 28th July.
- Harvey Norman have donated gift vouchers for the winners (more sponsors to come – tbc)

As we prepare for the upcoming Unplugged Open-Mic Session on Sunday, October 8th, from 3 pm to 7 pm, we’re excited to announce that we’ve locked in an interesting lineup of 7 ‘acts’.
Here’s the schedule:
– 3:00 pm: Kicking things off is Alija Kajan, a local soloist known for putting a unique spin on cover songs.
– 3:30 pm: DB, a soloist with a knack for subtlety, will take the stage.
– 4:00 pm: The stage belongs to Callum White, a young soloist from the neighborhood who’s not afraid to share a few original tracks.
– 4:30 pm: Jim Hatzis, another talented local soloist, will demonstrate his skills.
– 5:00 pm: Eduardo Ruiz, a classically trained guitarist known for his daring performances that rival Pepe Romero.
– 5:30 pm: The mood turns upbeat as the Pop/Rock trio Rubber Band takes the stage.
– 6:00 pm: Closing out the evening, Motown & Beyond, a 5-piece band, will take you on a joyous and soulful journey through the timeless grooves of a bygone era.
Each of these talented musicians and groups will have their chance to “romance the house” with their unplugged tunes, delivering a 20-minute set filled with acoustic charm.
And don’t forget, we’re all about that acoustic vibe! 😄
Just like our previous Open-Mic show, the entire Unplugged Open-Mic Session will be LIVE-STREAMED via the Eastlakes Sports Club Facebook Page. These videos will also be uploaded to various community social media platforms and distributed far and wide.
Entry is FREE, and we’ve got discounted drinks, a delightful bistro, and a team of wonderful staff ready to make your day special. All ages are welcome, so bring your friends and family!
